Schau in den tiefen See der lügenden Bilder,

Und versuch’, E-Wa zu finden.

Last night, after a few glasses, a funny thought crossed my mind: This charming lady on the wall tries not to sell some products with her smile. No, her smile is especially for me. Sounds funny, doesn’t it? Maybe. But on the other hand: Why should’nt I take some comfort from this advertising? Because in reality, this cold city is not smiling at me at all, and I never before felt so lonely as I’m feeling now… in Shanghai!

Klar, die prostituiert sich für irgendein Produkt. Ihr Lächeln gilt nicht mir. Aber was, wenn… Wenn diese charmante Lady mir ganz persönlich ihr Lächeln schenken würde? Auf solch abstruse Gedanken kannst du nur kommen, wenn du paar Gläser Hochprozentiges intus hast - und wenn diese kalte Stadt Shanghai völlig gleichgültig bleibt: wie gross deine Probleme auch sind, wie scheissverloren du dich auch fühlst.

Wie soll das der Taxifahrer wissen, wenn ich’s selbst nicht weiss? OK, nach links, weil: People’s Square sagt mir was. War das nicht der Platz, wo Tom dieses mysteriöse Mädchen getroffen hat?

“Tom what?” No answer, just a stupid question from this guy I met ’round here. But fact is: This journalist, Chris Fisher, from the Financial Times, was a friend of Tom Wildt. That’s for sure.

“Tom wie?” Keine Antwort, nur ne blöde Frage von diesem Schreiberling, den ich hier getroffen habe. Fakt ist aber: Dieser Journalist, Chris Fisher von der Financial Times, war ein Freund von Tom Wildt. Das ist absolut sicher.
